ACTIVITIES OF THE FEDERATION
Membership of the Gloucester Federation of Garden Societies is open to any gardening club or society in Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas. In addition to offering Public Liability Insurance, the federation offers:
- a forum for the exchange of ideas between gardening clubs
- lists of speakers on various gardening related topics
- judges for shows, competitions and exhibitions
Some 130 horticultural/gardening clubs and specialist societies are now members of the Federation. They are entitled to take part in any of the Federation activities, which include:
ANNUAL GENRAL MEETING
All members are entitled to be represented and have up to four votes per member club. It is held within ten months of the end of the financial year at Hartpury College at a date set by the Executive Committee. At this meeting the business of the Federation is conducted, officers elected, and the Executive Committee is formed with representatives from the affiliated clubs and societies. There is usually an opportunity to look around the College grounds and see the work of Horticultural and Ground Staff departments.
