Spetchley & District Gardeners' Society

The Spetchley and District Gardeners’ Society was originally established by Mr Robert George Berkeley (’the Squire’) to provide a meeting place for both estate workers and local residents to enjoy a shared interest in all aspects of plants, gardening and gardens. Today, over fifty years on and with a membership approaching sixty, the Society continues to flourish and counts amongst its members Mr John and Miss Juliet Berkeley.

Regular meetings with speakers are held in the atmospheric Old School on the estate where an annual Spring Bulb Show takes place as well as a larger summer Flower and Produce Show. Both shows are open to all comers. Garden visits and a Christmas party round off the year’s calendar.

Visitors are welcomed. Full membership costs £7.50 a year and provides free entry to the indoor meetings.
