The GFGS Executive (Trustees) is actively seeking to recruit new members.
The Executive carries out important work in managing the current services to its affiliated clubs and societies. You will all be aware of the insurance scheme, the training of judges for your shows, the speakers list and the availability of advice. The encouragement of school gardening in areas where we have affiliated clubs and societies is also an important part of our work.
We urge you to seriously consider, or to encourage any interested member of your own club/society to consider joining the executive. Any current member of the executive will be happy to talk to anyone expressing an interest and explain how the executive works.
Only 12 counties have a federation or similar organisation and only 3 have a Guild of Judges, so our affiliated clubs and societies have a service available which is not available to those in many other parts of the UK. So, if you feel you can help the Executive to continue to offer the current services to our local gardening clubs and societies please contact us.
Please do your best to respond positively to this request in order to help YOUR federation to continue, before it is too late!
