Affilliation and Insurance Premium Renewals
These become due by March 31st 2009

The Affiliation Fee, from 2009, is £12.00.

Increased Cover
Since 2008 the cover has been increased at no extra cost to the members.
Public Liability Insurance Limit has been raised to 5 million pounds.
Employers Liability has been added with a limit of 10 million pounds which includes member to member liability.
Product Liability and the money,assault sections remain unchanged.
Equipment and Cup/Trophy Insurance remain the same.
Full details will be sent with the renewal notices.
Remember we are still very competitive being 50% cheaper for the same cover as our more well known competitor.
Please respond propmtly to the rewnewal premium so that you have no gaps in your insurance cover.

Public liability insurance is important for all clubs and societies.
It covers situations where, for example, someone is scalded by a hot cup of tea or slips on soil, compost or clippings that have fallen on the floor.
Without wishing to be alarmist, it may not be the member that claims against the club but it could be someone else who sues you in order to recover their costs, lost wages etc.
If the club does not have insurance, the club officers and committee members could find themselves personally liable.
Our advice is therefore to ensure that your club has adequate insurance and that it covers people as well as property.
